Following MSD's decision to cease production of the Lepto2 vaccination all dogs will be transitioned onto Lepto4.

As a practice we use Lepto4 as a first line vaccination in all dogs and have done since the product was launched over 10 years ago. If you have not specifically requested the Lepto2 vaccine in the past you are most likely to have already had your pet fully covered with the Lepto4 vaccine. Please check your vaccination certificates or contact the surgery and we will be able to confirm this for you.

What do you need to do?

When your dog is due its annual booster vaccination please book an appointment as normal (if your dog isn't due a vaccination yet please wait until then). During your appointment the vet will discuss

with you the transition process to Lepto4 if your dog has previously been vaccinated with Lepto2.

If your dog has received a Lepto4 vaccine, your dog is already fully covered.

If your dog has received a Lepto2 vaccine the Veterinary Surgeon will advise you to come back for a top up vaccination in 4 weeks following their booster.

If you have any queries please contact the surgery for advice.
